4. Exploring Issues of Social Justice with Indianapolis Community Leaders - Brian Payne, President and CEO of CICF
Brian Payne is the president and CEO of the $870 million Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) and The Indianapolis Foundation. Since he joined CICF in November 2000, the foundation’s annual grant-making has more than doubled to over $50 million. CICF’s mission is to mobilize people, ideas and investments to create a community where all individuals have an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential—no matter place, race or identity.
At Butler University’s Lacy School of Business, we believe that being an ethical leader means acknowledging injustices and actively working to correct them. We have an obligation to prepare students to be leaders in organizations that are inclusive and offer a place of belonging for all people, regardless of background. The Lacy School of Business Ethics Podcast, presented by Old National Bank, is devoting its next episodes to local community leaders committed to combating issues of racial and social injustice in the Indianapolis community and beyond. We’ll explore ways that business and educators can make a difference.
