College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Pharmacy Camp

Who: Rising 10th-12th grade

When:  June 25-28, 2024 (Tues-Fri)

What: Students will gain an understanding of medication therapy in today’s healthcare environment and explore the role of the pharmacist in contemporary healthcare. There will also be an introduction of the many career paths in pharmacy, including ambulatory and acute patient care, drug compounding, pharmaceutical research, hospital and community pharmacy, and more!

Tuition: $200

Camp activities include:

  • Preparing pharmaceutical products in a compounding lab and a clean room.
  • Practicing clinical assessment techniques such as taking a blood pressure.
  • Hands-on learning experiences designed to help students understand the many roles pharmacists play on patient care teams.

Meeting and interacting with current pharmacists from a variety of different practice areas.
