The ISO at Butler: Folk and Fantasy
Discover a world of captivating melodies and cultural richness in this unforgettable concert. Esteban Benzecry’s Rapsodia Andina offers a breathtaking homage to Andean traditions, while Manuel Ponce’s beloved Estrellita (arr. Heifetz) enchants with its timeless beauty. Hannah Kendall’s Network Bed intrigues with modern textures, and Florence Price blends lush romanticism with Black folk music in her Piano Quintet in A minor. Special guests Christine Lamprea and pianist Pallavi Mahidhara join ISO Concertmaster Kevin Lin and friends.
Advance registrations close at 4pm the day prior to the event. If seats remain, they will be available at the door on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Butler University’s Jordan College of the Arts are partnering to showcase the ISO’s world class musicians who also serve as BU faculty, deepening the relationship between the two storied organizations. The series of four concerts will be held throughout the 2024-25 season in the Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall on the BU campus.
