Music at Butler: Butler University Percussion Ensemble

The Butler University Percussion Ensemble presents the first of its two fall concerts featuring the talents of the Butler percussion studio. Listeners will be immersed in a world of intricate rhythms, patterns, sounds and textures – from bowed vibraphones, chiming flowerpots, marimbas, triangles, electronic grooves, and drums of all kinds. Directed by Artist-in-Residence, Jon Crabiel, the program presents works by the most innovative, cutting-edge composers. From classical to jazz to pop to contemporary music, the performance will also include traditional drumming of the Brazilian Samba Batucada.
