Join members of the Butler Chorale, Chamber Singers, and University Choir for a close up look at the unique relationship between words and music. Lyrical combines multiple languages, poetic sources, nationalities, and centuries to explore the unique power words have upon music…and vice-versa. Excerpts from JS Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio,” Morten Lauridsen’s passionate setting of Rainer Maria Rilke’s Dirait on, Eric Whitacre’s Lux Aurumque, and Tito Puente’s Oye Como Va are included, as is special recognition of this year’s graduates.
