Beethoven @ Butler 2020: The Complete Piano Sonatas - Part 8 of 9
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth, the Butler University School of Music is presenting the complete 32 Piano Sonatas in a series of nine recitals. Throughout 2020, Beethoven celebrations are happening at venues all around the world, and Butler is proud to present this series as part of the international festivities.
Due to the international pandemic, all nine performances are closed to the public, and will stream live from the Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall on Butler’s campus. Each performance will then be available to view through the Archive on the Butler Arts and Events Center website until January 11, 2021.
This recital (#8 of 9) includes the following pieces and performers:
Sonata No. 5 in C Minor, op. 10, no. 1, performed by Lori Rhoden, Ball State University
Sonata No. 13 in E-flat Major, op. 27, no. 1 (“Sonata quasi una Fantasia”), performed by Leon Harshenin, Taylor University
Sonata No. 22 in F Major, op. 54, performed by Andrew Hisey, Butler University
Sonata No. 31 in A-flat Major, op. 110, performed by Ray Kilburn, Ball State University
