Facility Rentals & Services
The Butler Arts and Events Center is home to a variety of event spaces throughout campus for rental by external organizations and personal users. These include:
Multipurpose Event Spaces
- Popular with receptions, retreats, and interactive workshops
- Spaces can be set to the specific event needs
- Room capacities range from 40 to 240 people in a set up in rounds, 70 to 400 in theatre seating, and a variety of other capacities in between depending on your set up needs
Classroom & Conference Room Spaces
- Popular with workshops, board meetings, and presentations
- Space set ups vary according to if the room is fixed or flexible seating
- Room capacities range from 20 to 200 people
Outdoor & Specialty Spaces
- Includes spaces for events like weddings, showers, outdoor retreats, and 5k events
- Outdoor spaces include the Holcomb Gardens and various courtyard spaces on campus
- Other indoor specialty spaces include Sweeney Chapel and arts facilities

Space rentals require a contract and 50% deposit, a certificate of insurance, and includes:
- Access to the space 2 hours prior to the event start time for set up and 1 hour after for tear down
- Any furniture or AV equipment that is included within the space
- An event coordinator who will serve as your consultant on campus logistics leading up to the event
- A day-of event contact to manage campus logistics
Items that can be requested at an additional cost include:
- Rental linens to cover tables or other rental furniture
- Floral arrangements
- Additional event staffing, which may also apply based on event details
Events at Butler utilize our on campus catering service, Bon Appetit. If you are planning to have food or beverage at your event, you will work with them separately. The catering team can be contacted at catering@butler.edu.
