Our Butler Bands Centennial is once again in the spotlight in this Butler University Wind Ensemble performance entitled, “The Celebration Continues.” The program will feature “Falling Sky,” music from the newly commissioned ballet by Hollywood composer Michael Abels, in its premiere performance for the concert stage. We will also showcase the talents of clarinetist Sean Szolek-Van Valkenburgh, co-winner of Butler University’s Concerto Competition, in Claude Debussy’s “Premiere Rhapsody,” transcribed for band by Butler’s own Dr. Mark Walker. The program will also include traditional band favorites by Ingolf Dahl, Joseph Wilcox Jenkins, and William Schuman.
