The Butler Bands Centennial concludes in spectacular fashion in a gala concert replete with all of the fanfare and fireworks one could hope for. We welcome back several guest conductors from the storied past of Butler Bands, including Dr. Robert Grechesky, Prof. Mike Leckrone, Dr. Daniel Bolin, Dr. Matthew Smith, Maj. Matt Henry (USAF, Ret.), and Capt. Bryan Sherlock, Assistant Director of “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band. The program will feature the premieres of several works composed or arranged specifically for this event by Butler faculty - Dr. Michael Schelle and Dr. Frank Felice, and Butler alumni - Sean Alan Sumwalt and Michael Krueger. In acknowledgement of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, listeners will also experience a rare performance of his spectacular showpiece “Wellington’s Victory.” This concert will take place in conjunction with a Butler Band Reunion, details of which can be found at: https://www.butler.edu/bands/BandCentennial
